Communication and Public Information Officer
Communication and Public Information Officers report on humanitarian operations. They inform various groups about their work in the humanitarian field: Journalists address their requests to them and receive relevant information, press releases, interviews and invitations to press events.
The affected population, donors, specialised public and interested people learn about the humanitarian situation through regular reports. Communication and Public Information Officers adhere to and/or develop the media strategy of the host organisation. The analysis of events, changing opinions of the civilian population, humanitarian trends and press reactions as well as how to deal with them are also part of the tasks.
