Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination Experts

Many humanitarian crises are caused by violent conflicts and natural disasters. In such cases, national and international military forces are often deployed to stabilise the situation. Within the framework of civil-military cooperation, civil and military actors coordinate their activities and promote a better understanding of each other's principles.

Humanitarian Civilian-Military Coordination Experts inform military actors about the respect for humanitarian principles and inform each other about their current humanitarian activities in order to achieve consistent assistance for the affected population. Civil-Military Coordination Experts are increasingly assuming tasks in the area of humanitarian access to areas and populations. To achieve this, they negotiate with military actors and other groups.
