Exit strategies and transitions are part of the current debate on sustaining the impact of peace operations. The dashboard presents the duration and triggers for the end of deployments to introduce the debate on this topic. For this purpose, data from 168 peace operations of the United Nations and the Common Security and Defence Policy of the European Union were analysed. The Sudan/South Sudan case study then focuses on follow-on arrangements and key exit factors that need to be considered.
