Berlin Expert Dialogue „Peace Operations in Complex Environments“
For two days, international experts exchanged ideas at the Berlin Expert Dialogue surrounding the topic of „Peace Operations in Complex Environments – Dealing with Armed Groups Designated as Terrorist Organizations in the Sahel“. The online event was organised by the UN Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI) and ZIF to give the participants a platform to discuss different approaches as well as sharing their experiences in the field.
The workshop from July 27th to July 28th featured five panels and had over 30 people discussing, listening and engaging with each other.
Covering a host of issues, the experts gave an overview of current challenges and threats posed by Armed Groups Designated as Terrorist Organizations, talked about comprehensive solutions on the ground as well as accountability in contexts affected by terrorism and spoke about the role of ex-combatants.
