Political Advice and Analysis
This area of activity encompasses the ongoing observation and analysis of political events and developments in the host country, collecting corresponding information and developing options for action and strategies derived from that information.
You can expect to be involved in the following tasks:
- Observing and analysing political developments;
- Preparing background information on developments and causes of conflict;
- Early-warning mechanisms with regard to developments threatening stability;
- Developing recommendations for action for the mission;
- Reviewing the political effectiveness of measures;
- Collecting and analysing information from a range of sources;
- Participating in investigative missions;
- Advising mission leadership on political matters;
- Communicating and liaising with national and local government representatives and authorities;
- Monitoring and liaising with civil society.
